Ashley Childs

Ashley Childs is a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern at the Trauma Healing
Collective. Ashley is also a certified Vinyasa and Kemetic Yoga Teacher, and she is
trained in EMDR.

A recent transplant to Tallahassee from Silver Spring, Maryland, Ashley is an
experienced mental health therapist who believes strongly in a holistic approach–mind,
body, and spirit–to therapy.

Ashley received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Hampton University, then
attended Temple University where she received her master’s degree in counseling
psychology in 2022.

Before joining the Trauma Healing Collective team, Ashely worked at a nonprofit where
her work centered around helping individuals impacted by sexual assault, human
trafficking, and domestic violence.

Ashley has also worked as a Certified Vinyasa and Kemetic Yoga Teacher since 2018
and brings that expertise into treating trauma. What’s more, Ashley is passionate about
improving the holistic health of the African American community as it relates to healing
trauma, specifically in how transgenerational trauma impacts individuals and the use of
somatic therapy in marginalized communities.

When not working, Ashley keeps her body and mind in motion by going on runs with her
German Shepherd dog Sage, taking martial arts, doing CrossFit, and teaching yoga
classes on weekends. Ashley also enjoys anime, spending time outdoors, and writing
poetry.
